I have been looking for the perfect hall unit for some time..

So when I found this one, I knew all I needed to do was give it some TLC and adapt it so it would fit in with my home beautifully!

Just a couple of coats of matt paint in linen white, & some wood finishing oil, was all it took...

California Dreaming...

My trip to the US wouldn't have been complete without a bit of window shopping! And with my digital camera at the ready I was hoping to find some yummy store fronts that would inspire...and that's exactly what I found!

The Pumpkin is fantastic isn't it? and was displayed in an small independent art gallery in Los Angeles & being Halloween weekend what could be more appropriate? Now that's just the sort of pumpkin I want to display in my window at Halloween.

The old rug chair...wow what a lovely idea? and so easy to do yourself...upcycling at its best!

... I found Heaven.....

This store in New York is full of history and packed to the rafters with delightful threads, ribbon, buttons beads, fabric and vintage haberdashery... so much that I can imagine it's quite overwhelming if you ever visited the store! But boy will it be my first stop when I'm next in NY..

It has even inspired a book to be published..French General Treasured Notions, autographed by Marcia Ceppos. Avaible on Amazon.

The Store started in around the 1930's and has the most fantastic story of how it came to be the store that everybody's talking about today! check out the the story on the website....

Ooooo Pretty.....

I am really loving vintage Jugs at the moment...and when we found this extra large french inspired enamel gem, we couldn't resit stocking it. So much more relaxed and romantic than sticking your flowers in a some plain boring vase you had at the back of your cupboard...
